INTRODUCTION

The position of Arabic as the language of the Quran in addition to its widespread use in the Arab and Islamic world places it as the most important language in the world today. Proficiency in Arabic allows a person to understand the contents of the Qur'an and hadith in addition to being able to read books on Islamic sciences that are written in Arabic. Recognizing the importance of the Al-Quran & Al-Sunnah Studies Course Unit, the Academy of Islamic Studies intends to offer Advanced Arabic Language Courses to expose the public to the rules in Arabic, reading and writing skills as well as listening and communication. These courses are also expected to provide initial exposure to students as a preparation before continuing their studies at the undergraduate level of Islamic studies.

OBJECTIVE

Among the main objectives of this course are:

Reveal to the students the important methods in Arabic such as the method of  nahw  and

Improve students' skills in reading and writing in Arabic

Improve students' skills in listening and communicating in Arabic

Classes are held at the Seminar Room and Lecture Hall of the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur. This course is conducted in lectures delivered by lecturers.

COURSE DURATION AND LEARNING TIME

This course is conducted on weekends, that is, every  Sunday  from  9.00 am  to  1.00 pm . This course contains 3 modules conducted over  one semester (6 months) . This course will end in  two semesters .

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Malaysian.
  • Has high interest & seriousness
  • Has a foundation in Arabic
  • Age 18 and older

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

  • Certificate of Participation  - Participants must attend 80% of the class to qualify for a certificate of participation.
  • Certificate of  Pass - Participants must pass (passing mark 40) in the examination for all subjects offered. 80% attendance is required to qualify to sit for the examination.

TUITION FEES

The fees for each Module are as follows:

Tuition Fee: RM 900.00

Fees paid will not be refunded if participants fail to attend the course or for any reason unless the course is canceled by the organizer.

SUBJECTS OFFERED

QAWAID & 'IRAB AL-QURAN

This subject is the basis of Arabic language skills. It is learning related to grammar (grammar) for example special nouns, general nouns, sentence types and so on.

READ & WRITE

This subject will impart knowledge to students to read and write in Arabic. Learning will be easier with approaches related to daily life.

HEARING & COMMUNICATE

This subject is in line with the objectives of this certificate being held. This subject provides an opportunity for students to communicate in Arabic. This learning uses a simple conversation approach in class using topics related to everyday life.
