Islamic History & Civilization

The Department of Islamic History and Civilization aims to be an excellent centre that provide various spectrum of knowledge about the past in order to create future glory in this modern era. The department was established in 1996 in accordance to the restructuring at the Academy of Islamic Studies, which saw 9 departments were established altogether. The department grows stronger year by year with vibrant and energetic team of academics and non-academic staff. Since the inception, the department offers bachelor degree under the Usuluddin umbrella. To complete the growth and academic process, Master and PhD studies are also offered at the department. This is and excellent opportunity to those who would like to further their studies in the area of Islamic History and Civilization. Our academic members have a multidimensional expertise and different background on academic trainings which enrich the strength that we have. They are actively involved in research and won several medals in research exhibitions as well as winning a prestigious award of ‘Anugerah Akademi Negara’ (AAN).
