The Academy of Islamic Studies, University Malaya is dedicated to support of research of postgraduate students. Under the Bright Sparks Program, the Academy of Islamic Studies has established scholarships to support outstanding research students at University Malaya who have the potential of publication in high impact ISI journals.
Students will be selected from amongst applicants in the Islamic Studies, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Their research must be relevant to the focus of the Academy of Islamic Studies, and the multi-disciplinary study of Islam, society and science.
Applicants must show evidence of excellence in their field of study and formulate a coherent research proposal. They must be fluent in English language (Arabic is an asset). They must have published at least one paper in international reputable journal and show commitment to teamwork.
Applicants are encouraged to contact the Academy of Islamic Studies, University Malaya prior to submitting their application to discuss whether their research proposal is relevant to the Institute’s focus. Shortlisted applicants only will be contacted for interview.
