First and foremost all praises be to Allah s.w.t., Creator of this universe. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, his companions and family as well as those who follow the right path.
It is a great privilege and pleasure for me to give a welcoming note in the website of the Department of Al-Quran and Al-Hadith, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. This department is steered by experienced academic staff and helpful administrative staff who promote a gracious and warm environment. Our students, both local and international, come from various places and different cultures. This diversity creates more advantages for the department to serve the students better.
It is our commitment to ensure that students get the best support, assistance, and guidance in their endeavour to achieve academic excellence as well as be involved in other valuable University activities. It is our highest intention to provide an encouraging environment in learning and research activities that will give unique experience and priceless opportunity in knowledge development.
Since the time of the first Quranic revelation by Allah S.W.T and the commencement of the Hadith by the Prophet s.a.w the culture of memorization, narration, learning, compiling, writing literature and research in this revealed knowledge has never dried out or declined. The message is very clear, it brings a universal call for all humanity, both Muslim and non-Muslim. As one of the essential disciplines in Academy of Islamic Studies, the role of this department is also clear, i.e., to shoulder the trust (amanah) of disseminating the universal truth of the Quran and Hadith to all knowledge quests.
Welcome to our department. Have a pleasant discovery here!
