Administration

 

The administration of the Academy of Islamic Studies is carried out in two places, that is in the main campus in the University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur, and in the branch campus in the Academy of Islamic Studies in Nilam Puri, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The administration at the main campus is carried out through three main components, that is the Division for Higher Degrees, the Division for Basic Degrees, and the Division for Research and Development.  At the branch campus in Nilam Puri, meanwhile, attention is given to pre-degree programmes in the form of pre-Islamic Studies in various fields.Each of the administrative divisions in the main campus is headed by a Deputy Director, while the Nilam Puri branch campus is headed by a campus administrator who is responsible to the Director of the Academy.

As a way to strengthen the academic administration of this Academy for Islamic Studies, nine departments and three programmes have been established.  The departments and programmes are as follows.

4. Department of Al-Qu’ran and Al-Hadith
5. Department of Islamic History and Civilization
   
6. Department of Siasah Syar’iyyah
   
7. Department of Syariah and Economics
   
8. Department of Syariah and Management
9. Department of Syariah and Law
10. Islamic Education Programme
11. Applied Science and Islamic Studies Programme

As support to the academic activities and educational services, a number of administrative units have been established.  These units are:
